BOARD MEMBERS

Following a successful career in the oil & gas industry, Afolabi joined African Capital Alliance in 1999. He has since been responsible for ACA’s investor relations. Afolabi continues to work with many of ACA’s investee companies in various value-adding roles including serving on boards. Prior to joining ACA, Afolabi had over 20 years experience in the oil & gas industry.

His previous experience was mostly with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), where he served in various capacities culminating in being appointed Group Executive Director for the downstream operations in 1995. While employed with NNPC, he was seconded at different times to OPEC, Mobil USA and Total France. Afolabi, a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and post-graduate certificates in petroleum economics and management.

Mr Bajomo has over 30 years of experience in oil and gas operations, business development, portfolio management, contract negotiations and asset management. Between 2005 and 2010, he was a Vice President for BG Group with responsibilities for commercial, business development and venture management for upstream licences, midstream opportunities and LNG development for their Nigerian assets.

Between October 1980 and August 2005, he worked for the Shell Group, with 19 years in Nigeria and 9 years in various international locations in Africa, London and the Netherlands. He was the Managing Director of Shell Exploration and Production Namibia and Namibia Country Chairman between 1999 and 2003.

Importantly, between 1994 and 1996, he was the Chief Petroleum Engineer responsible for managing the hydrocarbon resource base of 12 producing and 8 non-producing fields, with oil reserves of some 1100 mmbbls and production of ca. 150,000 bopd, in the Western Division of Shell Nigeria in Warri, where OML 26 is located.

Boma Pepple is Chief Technical Officer of FHN. In this role he is responsible for delivering the company’s technical and field development activities covering opportunity identification, resource maturation, project delivery and portfolio management.

He is a reservoir engineer with over 25 years’ experience in operations, Information Technology, reservoir modelling, field development, asset management, technical/business consulting, M&A advisory and business development. His professional experience spans the operating (Shell), services (Schlumberger) and consulting environments (SGS-Horizon, Xodus Group, Sunrise Advisory and Target Oilfield Services) which gives him a broad and balanced set of skills and capabilities from the hierarchical and structure/process-oriented culture of Integrated Oil Companies (IOC’s), to the strong service delivery orientation of Integrated Services Companies (ISC’s) as well as the nimble, entrepreneurial culture of start-ups.

He has undertaken technical, commercial and leadership assignments in Africa, Europe, North/South America, Middle East and Asia Pacific. He graduated with Bachelor of Engineering in electrical engineering from the University of Port Harcourt and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science from Cambridge University. He is a member of the SPE and has attended technical, business and leadership training within the oil and gas sector and at the Harvard Business School.

Kayode has over 15 years’ professional experience spanning audit, banking operations, financial accounting, corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, business integration and financial advisory. He advised clients in the shipping, financial services, telecommunications, oil servicing and manufacturing sectors.

He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

Seun Oni commenced his Banking Career about 20 years ago with Standard Trust Bank Limited (now UBA Plc). He joined FCMB Limited in 2011 as an Assistant Vice President / Group Head of Energy and later, Head, Corporate Loan Workout.

Mr. Oni has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Economics and MBA from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He also attended the Wharton School of Business for his Executive Development Program

Gbenga is a Senior Vice President at Capital Alliance Nigeria, where he leads the firm’s Energy investment effort. Gbenga is responsible for origination, structuring, execution, monitoring and exit of investments of up to $200 million in the oil & gas and services sectors.

He joined Capital Alliance in 2008. Prior to joining Capital Alliance, Gbenga was a manager in the Global Energy & Natural Resources practice at Accenture, where he assisted international oil companies (IOCs) and power utilities to create value.

Gbenga started his career in the Audit & Business Advisory unit at Arthur Andersen (now KPMG Professional Services). He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Capital Alliance portfolio companies. Gbenga holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronic/ Electrical Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University.

He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

Ganiyu Musa is a highly experienced management professional with diversified experience in insurance, reinsurance, audit, consulting, business advisory and financial management.

Segun Olujobi is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vertex Energy, an Africa-focused independent Oil and Gas company. Prior to becoming the CEO of Vertex Energy, he worked with African Capital Alliance where he was a Principal and Accenture where he was a Partner in the Oil & Gas and Utilities Practice in Nigeria.

He graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Lagos. Segun is Chairman of the Board of Living Springs Schools and The Three Sixty Degree Foundation and is also a board member of The Scripture Grace Foundation.

Segun is also a fellow of the African Leadership Initiative West Africa (ALIWA).
